What is VoIP (Voice over IP) and how does it work?
Voice over Internet Protocol is the method by which test result messages are placed in the SecuReach data base. The office requires a simple USB port microphone which SecuReach provides. When a message is placed, the doctor or staff member simply records a message into the microphone in the same manner that one dictates into a simple dictating machine. You can listen to the message, delete it and start over, and when you are satisfied, click on the submit button to upload the message. This is all done over the internet and does not require a phone call. When the message is placed, the SecuReach system takes over. We notify the patient by phone and e-mail that they have a message. The patient calls the toll free phone number, enters their voicemail box number and security code, and listens to the results. This is why we say that the office can provide test results, test reminders and office reminders - all without the office ever making a single phone call!
How do I get the system installed? How soon can I have it ready to go?
Once an order is received by SecuReach Systems, we can have your practice up and running in 7-10 days. During the first online visit by our installers, we gather office information, pick out and design a custom patient card for your practice, and learn about the general flow of your office. Within 7 business days, our materials are finished and your practice is registered at SecuReach with a group user name and password. At the second on-line training visit, training is done with the staff. This generally takes only 1-2 hours. The system is very intuitive and easy to use. We have demonstrated this throughout the country where we train an office in the morning and the practice is using SecuReach in the afternoon. We currently (as of 9/1/2008) have over 300,000 patients using our system in 15 states.
My practice is located in a remote location. How can I get the SecuReach System installed?
SecuReach prides itself on its personal service to physicians, staff and patients. The benefits of our system are so important that we are able to install the system remotely. Using modern technology, we can give presentations and tutorials online in which your office staff sees our computer screen while talking to our installers on a conference call. In this way, we can install the system anywhere in the world. By using conference calling and on-line presentations, we can keep our sales costs down and in turn, give you the best product at the lowest possible price.
I am very concerned about internet security. What steps have been taken by SecuReach Systems to make the use of the product as safe as possible?
Internet security is an important issue for any entity which uses the internet. SecuReach Systems have partnered with a net security firm to make the system as safe as possible. We offer a site survey on your computer system to be sure that your antispyware and antiviral software is current and working. We can refer you to security experts if you wish. Our system utilizes information encryption. Our system is housed at an off-site location with generator backup as well as phone line duplication to ensure continuous operation.
I have electronic medical records. How does SecuReach interface with my system?
Our system works as an adjunct to electronic medical records. As a stand alone product, the amount of extra work involved in entering patients and ordered tests is dwarfed by the time savings introduced in our patent-pending method of communicating test results to patients. We introduce such efficiencies that offices can add communication, tracking and a culture of patient safety to an office in less time than the office currently expends in its day-to- day activities.
SecuReach recognizes that some offices will require even more time savings. To that end, our IT department can offer interfacing with any EHR or Practice Management Software to make the system even easier to use. One time data extractions are also offered to import tens of thousands of patients into our system initially to make the transition easier. Contact us for a full listing of the possibilities.
I have a large geriatric practice. How does the system work with the elderly patients?
This is a very good question. We have found that in general, the elderly do very well with our system. Once they dial the patient result toll free number, the prompts are very intuitive and easy to follow. SecuReach is the only vendor in this space that actually gives our help line number to our provider's patients. If a patient has trouble using the system or loses their card, they call us - not the provider office. Our trained staff can do conference calls so that elderly patients get their messages in a timely manner. As an added benefit, the patient - if they themselves choose - can save the message and let other family members listen to the message. That family member is hearing the results directly from the provider and not listening to the patient's interpretation of what he or she thought the provider meant. All voice files are saved on the SecuReach servers permanently and can be accessed and listened to with a simple click of the mouse.
Why should I use the SecuReach appointment scheduler/reminder service?
The appointment scheduler/reminder is built in to the web site of every office which uses SecuReach. More than half the offices use this functionality. Appointments can be easily entered into the system or interfaces can be purchased which automatically populates the SecuReach system. The patient receives a call 2 days prior to the appointment with the pertinent information regarding the office visit. The system cuts down on no-shows which improves office revenues. If a patient doesn't show, an automatic reminder can be sent to the patient telling them of the missed appointment. As with everything in SecuReach, documentation is constantly updated and available in the application itself. |
